Family photos need identification

Dear Editor,

The Newark Valley Town Historian’s Office has recently been gifted with a large number of family pictures, some portraits and some snapshots. Some have been identified, most not. They came from a home midway between Owego and Newark Valley. There are no descendants.

The ones we can identify are not Newark Valley people, but some have been taken in Towanda and some refer to Nichols, N.Y. As an historian and sometimes genealogist, I would love to claim these as my family, but.

Are they your family? Names so far identified are Seth Allen family (Johnson City), Shores, Wyatt Bacon (?), Robinson, Spinner, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones, Lucy Hayden, Parks, VanCuren and Hibbard.
