Depot Friday Night Series begins in Newark Valley

The Depot Friday Night Series in Newark Valley will begin their 13th season on Friday, June 2, with the return of The Tarps, bringing music from the 50’s through the 80’s.  

The Tarps hail from the Ithaca area and are a five-piece rock and roll band, led by Danny Scott on guitar and vocals, and playing the music of Bill Haley, Billy Joel, Little Richard, the Beatles and Jethro Tull. 

On June 9, author, photographer, and environmentalist Rick Marsi will be presenting a slide show entitled “California Dreamin” – Exploring Nature in the Golden State.

On June 16, the Depot welcomes back Rich Wilson. Rich will entertain with a wide variety of standards from Sinatra, Dino, Tony Bennett, Elvis and others. His professional appearance and smooth vocals will have you believing you are at a nightclub in Las Vegas.  

Rich is a member of the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame and songs from artists like Eddy Arnold, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson are often a part of Rick’s show.  

The Depot in Newark Valley is located on Depot Street and the doors open on Friday evenings at 6 p.m., with the programs beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments are available.  

Weather permitting the musical programs will be outside, so bring a lawn chair.
