Trinity-CASA – A Tioga County Non-Profit Network Partner

Trinity-CASA of Tioga County, located at 6 McMaster St., Suite #4 in Owego, is funded through the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. Trinity-CASA is a substance abuse prevention agency that provides youth education in schools in Tioga County.

Currently, Trinity-CASA is completing Life Skills programming with 5th and 6th grade in the Waverly School District. The school is very pleased thus far and the teachers and students are enjoying the program.

On April 29, they hosted a Prescription Drug Take-Back event and collected 110 lbs. of drugs, of which there was roughly $14,000 street value of narcotics collected. This was a very successful event, and they would like to thank the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department for helping Trinity-CASA with this.

The Tioga County ASAP coalition is working hard to get their name out in the community. They are currently running awareness campaigns and articles, involving all of the schools in their safe prom and graduation campaigns, planning several events for opioid awareness, and hosting community naloxone trainings and alcohol town hall meetings.

For more information regarding their services or how to get involved, call Christina Olevano, program supervisor, at (607) 223-4066. You can also find them on Facebook.
