On May 13, from 8 a.m. to noon, the Town of Spencer will host a tire and scrap metal cleanup for Town of Spencer and Village of Spencer residential households. The collection point will be at the North Spencer Transfer Station located on Hillview Road between Route 96 and Michigan Hollow. Use the Angelo Gravel Company entrance and keep to the right.
The cleanup is held to minimize potential areas for mosquitoes to reproduce and to reduce health-related problems transmitted through insects and vermin. It will also assist in beautifying the Town of Spencer.
There will be no charge for tires, and scrap metal will also be accepted. Proof of Town of Spencer and Village of Spencer residency is required.
The program is hosted by the Tioga County Department of Solid Waste and is funded by Upstate Shredding – Ben Weitsman.
