BBQ and Dance at the Elks Lodge this Friday

On Friday, May 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., Mike Mvra will be heating things up in the ballroom at the Owego Elks with his home-style Texan-Kansas City BBQ.

Smokey Legend Gourmet BBQ will be serving a sampling of Mike’s famous dinners, sandwiches and sides. On the menu for the evening is beef brisket, and pulled pork and chicken in the Legends famous white sauce. 

Food will be available from 5 to 8 p.m., which coincides with the Owego’s First Friday Art Walk. 

Are you in the mood to rumba? Salsa? Or maybe you are in the mood to carnival Spanish style! If dancing and celebrating make you happy, then join the celebration at the Owego Elks Lodge Cinco de Mayo Party that is taking place following Owego’s First Friday Art Walk. The party starts at 8 p.m. 

This Latin Fiesta is for everyone. The ballroom floor will heat up with a mix of Latin and Salsa music to celebrate this unofficial start of spring. There will be lots of dancing featuring traditional and contemporary tunes. Whether you have been taking lessons for social ballroom dance or just want to move to some hot Salsa music with your favorite partner or friends; this party is for you. 

Fiesta flavored appetizers will be available all through the evening and the bar will be open serving fine beverages including margaritas. 

The Lodge is located at 223 Front St. in Owego. There will be a $5 cover at the door for the Cinco de Mayo Party, and there will also be a huge basket raffle featuring party items to complete any spring celebration.
