In November of 2016, the floral and gift shop at Tioga Gardens closed its doors; but remaining on the grounds is the other portion of the family’s business – Tioga Gardens, Inc. With this business remaining, the owners continue to provide trees, shrubs, and landscaping services to the community.
With the business operating solely on the Route 17C property until the old floral shop is sub-leased to a hopeful business that will serve as a retail shop for items that compliment the garden center and landscaping business, the owners felt it was time to expand on their current business operations and have begun major renovations to the existing water gardens

With their sights set on launching “Reflections at Tioga Gardens”, an outdoor wedding and event venue, workers began to excavate the former ponds and the installation of newer ponds and surrounding green space that will be landscaped with floral varieties, fountains and statuary.
According to Casey Kuhlman, nursery manager at Tioga Gardens, Inc., the old pond had to be excavated, and its holdings redistributed.
“We will have two ponds,” said Kuhlman, “and we have added green space that will continue to be landscaped at a future date.” Kuhlman also

noted that lighted fountains would be installed inside of the ponds.
Other amenities that are already on site, according to Kuhlman, include the nearby pavilion and deck with a retractable cover. Remaining tasks within the transformation are the fountains and the landscape improvements.
To assist, Kuhlman explained that the former greenhouse that was dedicated to the floral shop would now be devoted to the flowers that will be utilized for “Reflections at Tioga Gardens.”

Ed Kuhlman, owner, noted that “Reflections at Tioga Gardens” will be primarily used for wedding occasions, but that other types of events at the venue would be welcomed.
Ed Kuhlman also stated, “The expansion is a phenomenal improvement to our existing facilities for people to enjoy.”
As for the expansion and renovation project, Casey Kuhlman has his own reasons for creating a venue that will be landscaped to perfection. Kuhlman is getting married in August, and has plans to utilize the facility for his own wedding.
In the meantime, renovations continue, with an anticipated completion date of the ponds

projected for early June. Upon their completion, further landscaping will follow.
