While many were celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, and just three and a half days after snowstorm Stella hit the region, dumping anywhere from 31 to 37-inches of snow, the Department of Transportation and other officials worked on its removal from roadways, ensuring further safety for residents, visitors and travelers.
Warm temperatures on Friday, combined with sunshine, led to some melting – offering a perfect opportunity for crews to come in and begin the process of removing
snow and alleviating the threats of ice as temperatures cooled in the evening.
According to NOAA, there is a 60 percent chance of snow on Saturday, with temperatures reaching 34. Accumulations, however, are predicted to be around an inch, which is no comparison with Stella.
