Spring Paddle Auction and fundraiser planned

On Sunday, March 19, a Spring Paddle Auction will take place at the Candor American Legion, located at 90 Spencer Rd. in Candor, at 1 p.m. with the auction beginning at 2 p.m. Hosted by the Candor Fourth of July committee, the event will benefit Candor’s American Legion Post 907.

There will be food available for purchase, and vendors will include Pampered Chef, Scentsy, LulaRoe, Elise’s Ceramics, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, 31, Style Dots, Norwex, Rodan and Fields, and various gift basket raffle items donated by the community.

A Paddle Auction is a fun way to win some of your favorite items from your favorite vendors for a $1.00 or less. You bring a few rolls of quarters to bid on items or quarters can be purchased on site.

Each vendor will be bringing many different types of items to bid at $0.25 per paddle. Vendors will also have displays set up and cash and carry items available.

You arrive and purchase your paddles and chips with matching set numbers for $5.00. You then place your chips into the large drawing basket. The next step is for the organizers to hold up an item and you decide if you would like to bid on it. If so, you drop the bid amount in quarters into the bucket on your table for each paddle you want to put in play and raise your paddles. If they draw the chip with your number on it, you win the item. If a chip is drawn with a number that was not bid, they will pull another chip until someone wins.
