A 175-ton steam turbine that is manufactured in New York is slowly making its way across portions of New York State and is headed to Pennsylvania. At the time of this reporting, it is moving slowly along Route 34/96 in Spencer, N.Y.
The 350,000-pound turbine is aboard a truck that is approximately 350 feet long and 20 feet wide.
The turbine’s journey began last Friday at General Electric’s Schenectady plant.
The truck, according to reports, is traveling at approximately 5mph and will reach its final destination, a power plant outside of Scranton, by mid-February.
