Open Bible Fellowship of Candor is collecting for Operation Christmas Child

Open Bible Fellowship of Candor, N.Y. has started collecting items for Operation Christmas Child – 2017. Their goal is to pack 300 boxes; 100 in June and 200 in November.

Items can be dropped off at Bostwick Auctions located at 1121 Owego Rd. in Candor, or The Owego Pharmacy in the TOPS Plaza. You can also email lindarc2010@live.com to make other arrangements if needed.

The following is a list of items needed: Personal care items; needs to be new;  toys must be new or very gently used; doll and accessories (doll clothes or a small doll bed); soccer ball (Include manual air pump to inflate); stuffed animal; an outfit of clothing to wear; small musical instrument (harmonica/recorder); toy truck or boat; comb; hairbrush; toothbrush (no toothpaste); washcloth; bar soap (packaged and/or in a container); adhesive bandages (no liquid antibiotic ointment); non-liquid lip balm; flashlight (solar-powered or hand-crank); compact mirror; nail clipper and file; stick deodorant; washable/reusable cloth menstrual pads; pencils and small manual pencil sharpener; colored pencils; pencil case; pens; crayons; markers; coloring pads; coloring books; picture book; notebooks; glue stick (no liquid glue); small adhesive tape; make-it-yourself craft items or kit; blank index cards; solar-powered calculator; safety (blunt tip) scissors; ruler; protractor; building blocks; stickers; puzzles; chalkboard and chalk; binoculars; tool set; compass; tool set with work gloves; fishing kit; brightly colored rope or twine; gardening kit with gloves and trowel (no seeds); magnets; kaleidoscope; skipping rope/jump rope; playing cards; marbles; foam ball; plastic toys and toy figures; Yo-Yo; small kite; Etch A Sketch; toy cars; and a Slinky.

Also needed are reusable plastic containers: cup, water bottle, plate, bowl, and blunt-edged utensils; playdough (consider adding plastic cookie cutters as non-sharp utensils the child can use with the playdough); watercolor set (finger paint palette / crayons / markers (non-liquid containers), paint brushes, canvas or paper; and costume items to play dress-up, such as crowns and costume jewelry.
