Alfred University names Owego resident to Dean’s List

Emma R. Siemer, a resident of Owego, N.Y., was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester at Alfred University (AU). She is a junior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average to qualify for Dean’s List.

Siemer is an Undecided major at AU. Alfred University has been named a “Best Buy” in the “Fiske Guide to Colleges Best Buys of 2016” where the University has been included consistently for more than 16 years. Alfred University is also ranked fourth by the 2015 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings and was selected as a Great Regional School at a Great Price in the north. Alfred University also scores on par with Princeton and better than Yale and Dartmouth according to the Brookings Institution’s “value added” assessment of some 4,000 schools nationwide.

A graduate of Owego Free Academy, Siemer is the daughter of William Siemer and Deborah Short Siemer of Owego, N.Y.

The University is comprised of the privately endowed College of Professional Studies, housing the School of Business, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as the state-sponsored College of Ceramics housing the Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering and the School of Art and Design. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees are awarded.
