River Edge supports local shelters this holiday season

River Edge Grooming and Boarding, located in Owego, recently held a pet drive entitled “Santa Paws for a Cause” to benefit Stray Haven in Waverly, and the Broome County Dog shelter.

Thanks to the customers at River Edge and members of the Owego Dog Owners Group (ODOG), River Edge was able to collect 162 pounds of dog food, 42 pounds of cat food, four packs of cat treats, two boxes of dog bones, seven beds, one blanket, seven toys, six gallons of bleach, 32 rolls of paper towels and two large containers of dish washing liquid.

Donations were split between the two shelters and delivered on Dec. 21, just in time for Christmas. According to River Edge, the generous donations will help make a homeless dog or cat a bit more comfortable this season.
