General Election is a week away; what’s on your ballot?

The General Election is less than a week away, with voting taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at polling locations from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. In Tioga County, N.Y., voters will find the following on the ballot.

For the Presidential and Vice Presidential election, voters will choose either Hillary Clinton (D), (WOR), (WEP) for president with Tim Kaine (D), (WOR), (WEP) for vice president, Donald Trump (R), (CON) for president with Michael Pence (R), (CON) for vice president, Jill Stein (GRE) for president with Ajamu Baraka (GRE) for vice president, or Gary Johnson (IND, LIB) for president with Bill Weld (IND, LIB) for vice president.

For United States Senate seats, voters will choose either Charles Schumer (D), (WOR), (IND), (WEP), Wendy Long (R), (CON), (REF) Robin Laverne Wilson (GRE), or Alex Merced (LIB).

For the 22nd Congressional District, voters will choose between Kim A. Myers (D), (WOR) Claudia Tenney (R), (CON) or Martin Babinec (REF), (UJP).

For the 23rd Congressional District, voters will choose either John F. Plumb (D), (WOR) or Tom Reed II (R), (IND), (CON), REF).

In the 52nd Senate District, voters will choose between Sharon Ball (D), (WOR) and Frederick J. Akshar II (R), (CON), (IND), (REF).

For the 124th Assembly District, voters will choose between Christopher Friend (R), (CON), (IND), (REF) and Bill Batrowny (D), (WOR).

For the District 5, County Legislative seat, voters will choose between Patrick Ayres (D) and Dennis Mullen (R).

In the Town of Berkshire, Kelly Sharp is running uncontested for the Justice seat.

Also in Berkshire, Proposal Number One, Town Proposition Number One will be voted on. Voters will decide, with this proposition, whether the operator of the 3rd Rail Redemption Center / 3rd Rail General Store be allowed to obtain a Retail package license which permits the operator to sell “to go” unopened containers of beer (such as six packs and kegs) and wine coolers with not more than 6 percent alcohol to a customer to be taken from the store for the customer to open and drink at another location (such as, for example, at his home).

In the Town of Newark Valley, Warren Smith (R), is running uncontested for a Coucilman seat.

In the Town of Nichols, Richard Kovall (D) and A. Lynette Nickels (R) are running to fill the seat.

In the Town of Richford, Proposal Number One, Local Law 1 of 2016, will be on the ballot. The referendum, if passed, would change of Term for Office for Office of Highway Superintendent. The proposed term of office for Town Highway Superintendent of the Town of Richford shall, upon approval of this mandatory referendum, be henceforth extended from two to four years with the term of office commencing Jan. 1, 2018.

In the Town of Spencer, Lawrence D. Bleck, Jr. (R), is running uncontested for the Town of Spencer Justice seat.
