Holiday food and gift signups begin at Rural Ministry

Applications for Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday food will begin on Monday, Oct. 3 and end on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Please note that this is a change from last year.

Any low to moderate income Owego residents are welcome to apply. First come, first served; they are only accepting the first 250 families.

During this same time period, residents may also register for gifts for all Tioga County children, from infants to 18 years of age.

In order to streamline the sign-up process and to eliminate a long waiting period, the food pantry will be closed from Oct. 3-14; during these two weeks extra volunteers will be on hand to assist with the application process. The food pantry will re-open on Monday, Oct. 17.
