Tioga Opportunities, Inc. offers ‘Living Heart Healthy’ program in Spencer

Heart disease is the nation’s #1 killer, causing 40.6 percent of all deaths – more than the next four leading causes of death combined. Join the Department of Aging at the Community and Fitness Center (57 E. Tioga St., Spencer) on Thursday, June 23 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. when the American Heart Association presents “Living Heart Healthy,” a program designed to educate people on ways to get healthy, stay healthy, and understand the warning signs and risk factors for heart disease, heart attack, and a stroke.

Topics covered will include the importance of physical activity and eating healthy, understanding your BMI, how to manage your blood pressure, and much more.
