Tioga County businesses partner with Catholic Charities for successful Festa Italiana fundraiser

Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga held a well-attended Festa Italiana pasta dinner on Wednesday, May 25 to raise funds for the agency’s programming in Tioga County.

The event, hosted at the Owego Elks Lodge, netted over $2,600, and was orchestrated by guest chef and Owego Town Supervisor Don Castellucci.

The following Tioga businesses sponsored the fundraiser.

At the Gold level: Lourdes Hospital, M&T Bank and Tom Ash Insurance Company (Owego).

At the Silver level: Original Italian Pizza (Owego), Ruscak Stained Glass (Owego), The Kitchen Store Inc. (Owego), The Left Bank (Owego) and The Owego Pharmacy (Owego).

At the Bronze level: Carol’s Coffee and Art Bar (Owego), Gail’s Diner (Nichols), Sopranos Italian Market (Waverly), Susquehanna Screen Printers (Owego) and Ted Clark’s Busy Market (Waverly).

Presentations by Owego resident Angel Zeh Starr, a participant in the Catholic Charities Employment Assistance Program, and by Newark Valley High School sophomore Salina Palmeter from the Catholic Charities Youth Engagement Services program illustrated Catholic Charities’ work in Tioga County.
