On June 6, 2016, New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Grant D. Woodruff, 27, of Binghamton, N.Y. for the misdemeanors of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree and other traffic violations.

This arrest occurred after a trooper arrived at a car versus bus crash that happened at about 8:34 a.m. on Chenango Bridge Road in the Town of Chenango. An investigation determined that Woodruff was driving while impaired by drugs when he was unable to stop in time and crashed into the rear of a Broome County Transit bus.

The bus was stopped in traffic while in the southbound lane and was only occupied by the driver.

After being arrested, Woodruff was found to unlawfully possess some hydrocodone and alprazolam pills.

Woodruff was arraigned in the Town of Chenango court and was remanded to the Broome County jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 property bond. His next court date in the Town of Chenango is on June 28, 2016.
