On May 7, 2016, Tioga Downs in Nichols, N.Y. opened their 11th season of harness racing and celebrated with derby fest – an opening event held in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby.
The event welcomed decorative hats for their annual contest that awarded prizes, a performance by the Edward P. Maloney Pipe Band, a tribute to former New York State Senator Tom Libous, and the opening of racing for the season.
There was also live entertainment, contests, and much more for the guests that packed the grandstands at Tioga Downs.
