On Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation, Inc. invites community members of all ages to the Owego Evergreen Cemetery for a “Join Hands Day” volunteer service and beautification project to continue care for this historic crown jewel of the community’s heritage.
Volunteers will clean up, rake leaves, prepare flowerbeds, plant flowers, and finish making improvements to the gazebo.
“Join Hands Day” is held every first Saturday in May to bring youth and adults together in volunteer service to their community. Betty Bassett Beautification funds will be used to make improvements in the historic cemetery.
