Athens ArtsFest entertainment schedule announced

Team ArtsFest is pleased to announce the entertainment schedule for the 2016 annual juried arts show. The festival will be held on April 30 and May 1 at Harlan Rowe Middle School in Athens, Pa. Visit the www.athensartsfest.com and the musicians’ Facebook pages for more information.

Saturday’s North Stage will showcase the following entertainment:

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. – Greg Neff. Take a trip through the 60s and 70s as you listen to your favorite acoustic tunes with Greg. Visit www.reverbnation.com/gregneff.

Noon – Penn York Highlanders. The Pipes and Drums will ring through the ArtsFest grounds as the Penn York Highlanders play favorite tunes of Scotland and Ireland.

1 to 2:45 p.m. – MR-2 (Mutts Road-2). One of the newest classic rock bands in the area brings refreshing tunes from bands like Chicago and the Beatles, including a live brass section.

3:30 to 5 p.m. – Tim Wood and Jake Parshall. These two Valley boys and recent Nashville recording artists will entertain you with an energetic afternoon of country music.

Saturday’s South Stage will feature the following bands:

10 to 11:30 a.m. – Technicolor Trailer Park. This folk duo from Ithaca will entertain you with sounds of Mandolin, Guitar, Native American Flute, Harmonica, Kazoos and more. Visit www.technicolortrailerpark.com.

12:30 to 2 p.m. – Flower City Vaudeville. Kids of all ages will enjoy the clever antics of this band.

3 to 4:30 p.m. – Quona Hudson. This artist blends Americana, Pop, and Country music with his musical roots from the Bluegrass sounds of the Appalachian Mountains. Visit www.oldboyrecords.com/quonahudson/.

Sunday’s North Stage entertainment will feature the following:

10 to 11:30 a.m. – Ain’t Misbehavin. A dance band that plays a wide range of musical styles including big band, jazz, pop, rock, polka and more.

12:30 to 2 p.m. and 2:45 to 4 p.m. – Upstate. Aaron Kelly (former American Idol contestant, Season 9). Keeyan Zimmerman, and Michele Stas are the members of this band located in upstate Pennsylvania. The band features tunes with a country music sound.

Sunday’s South Stage will feature:

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Triton Trio. Clap your hands and tap your toes to cover tunes from the 60s and 70s, as well as a few gems from the 20s and 30s. The trio will entertain with their folk and bluegrass twist to these classics.

1 to 3 p.m. – Woody Wolfe. Enjoy music that will entertain children and parents alike. Woody travels to various hospitals to play for children who are suffering from chronic illnesses.
