Robotics Programming available

Cornell Cooperative Extension Tioga County 4-H is proud to announce two Robotics Programs for this spring.

Lego WEDO is a starter robotics program for youth ages five to seven. Using Lego WEDO kits youth learn basic engineering design and programming. This program will be offered May 4 through May 18, at the Ronald E. Dougherty County Office Building in Owego from 5 to 7 p.m. Youth must preregister for this program online at tioga.cce.cornell.edu and the cost of the program is $15.00 per youth. Space is limited.

Lego NXT – Mindstorms is a more advanced robotics program for youth ages eight to 19 that encourages youth to design basic robots to complete specific tasks. Youth learn about engineering design and programming through hands on activities using Lego NXT Mindstorm kits.

This program will meet on Wednesday evenings, from 5 to 7 p.m., beginning May 25 and ending June 8. Youth will have an opportunity to show off their work at the Owego Strawberry Festival, the Tioga County Fair and the New York State Fair. Program meetings will be held at the Ronald E. Dougherty County Office Building in Owego. Youth must preregister for this program online at tioga.cce.cornell.edu and the cost to participate is $25.00 per youth. Space is limited.
