Dear Editor,
It’s almost that time of the year again when you the public will vote on the upcoming school budget. Many of you will vote no. But when you vote no you hurt the younger generation’s chances of bettering themselves and receiving more knowledge.
In this year’s budget the high school has a chance to bring back many elective courses. This gives the high school students more choices. If a student is interested in that field after college then he/she should have the choice to take that class in high school for free.
Owego Free Academy offers a lot less elective classes compared to other schools in the Southern Tier. This puts the students of the OA school district at a disadvantage.
It’s up to you to pass this year’s budget in order to give us, the students of Owego Free Academy, more opportunities to better our education. Thank you.
