Tree Planting in Memory of Fred Quinlan

In Memory of Frederick (Fred) Quinlan, there will be a special Tree Planting Ceremony on Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Hull Park located on Main Street in Candor, N.Y.

Fred was a Tioga County Deputy when he first came to Candor, and worked for the Hartford Insurance Company before he then worked for and retired from Dryden Mutual Insurance Company. In the 1980s he was Justice for Candor, and during his life in Candor became involved in many community activities. He was on the Board of the Village of Candor, Board member of the Bread of Life Food Pantry, active in church committees, and was a member of the Tioga County Men’s Garden Club.

Quinlan, who passed away on Feb. 11, 2015, was a kind, considerate, and passionate person. He is survived by his wife Rita (Ahart) Quinlan; four children and their spouses – Eric and Trudy Quinlan, Pam Quinlan, Jennifer and Tim McFall, Gretchen and Tony Huizinga; and five grandchildren.

Roy Yarrington, who will be officiating, said of Fred, “He was my best friend, and I miss him terribly.”  As do many in the community.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony. For more information contact Yarrington at (607) 659-7153.
