Tompkins and Cortland County Home Show to be held April 2 and 3

If you’re planning to remodel your house this year, you won’t want to miss the 27th Annual Home and Garden Show on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3, at Tompkins Cortland Community College.

More than 60 remodelers, builders, landscapers, florists and energy contractors from Tompkins and Cortland Counties will display their products at the two-day event. The show will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“We’re trying to give you inspiration and ideas for your home improvement projects and an opportunity for you to meet the professionals who can make it happen,” says Brooke Greenhouse, co-owner of Cayuga Country Homes in Dryden and an organizer of the event.

This year, the home show will feature wine, beer and food pairings presented by Laura Winter Falk, co-owner of Experience! The Finger Lakes and author of “Culinary History of the Finger Lakes: From the Three Sisters to Riesling.” Showcasing local products, the pairings will be offered on Saturday morning and throughout the day on Sunday at an additional cost of $10.

Free seminars on starting a flower cutting garden, designing multi-generational housing and improving your home’s energy efficiency will be held on both days. In addition, specialty foods will be offered by local chefs and children’s craft and science activities will be sponsored by the Namaste Montessori School.

The home show is sponsored by the Tompkins/Cortland Builders & Remodelers Association. Admission to the event is $6, but visitors will get $1 off by signing up for the home show newsletter at www.tcbra.com.
