Coughlin & Gerhart, L.L.P is pleased to announce that attorney Bruno Colapietro will become Of Counsel with the firm effective March 1, 2016.
A graduate of Hamilton College, he received his Law Degree from Cornell Law School in 1960. Colapietro began practicing as an Attorney with the Department of Justice Criminal Division in Washington, DC and then became a Partner at Chernin & Gold. He most recently served as Of Counsel with Levene Gouldin & Thompson.
Colapietro was also a former Instructor at Hinman College, now Binghamton University, Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell Law School for thirty years, President of the Broome County Bar Association, a frequent lecturer at local and State Bar Association Meetings, author of numerous articles on Family Law matters; Author of “Law and the Family” manual (1989), and currently a Chairman of the Broome County Legal Aid Child Support Matters, among many other professional and community-based involvements. He has been a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1975.
He has been repeatedly recognized as a New York Super Lawyer and The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Family Law. He received the distinction of Broome County Law Guardian of the Year in 2006, and Best Lawyer in Family Law in Broome County in 2012.
