Tioga County Primary Elections registration

The State Board of Elections reminds all state residents the last day to register to vote for the Tuesday, April 19, 2016 Presidential Primary Election is Friday, March 25.

Mail in voter registration forms postmarked by midnight, March 25 and received no later than March 30 are valid for the upcoming Primary Election. Residents who have moved to a new county must re-register from their new address. Those who have moved to a new address within the same county should provide the Board of Elections with their new address. A post card will be mailed to the voter to locate their new polling’s site.

Internet users may ‘Look Up’ the status of their voter registration, learn the location of their poll site, or download a registration form by clicking on “Voting Information” on the State Boards web site, www.elections.ny.gov.

Persons wanting to register may do so at county boards of elections as well as many post offices, DMV site’s, and state agency offices throughout the state.

Requests for registration forms may also be made by calling the Tioga County Board of Elections at (607) 687-8261 and the form will be mailed to them. Requests received after March 25 will be processed to be eligible to vote in future elections.

The Optical Scan voting machine has a Ballot Marking Device for voters not able to mark the ballot at each polling site according to the HAVA regulations of 2002.
