Welcome to election season!

Dear Editor,

Welcome to election season.

The Rebuild Party has used their normal tactics of only talking about what is on the top of the issues. They refuse or cannot talk about what is below the surface – the facts, because if they did they would have no platform to run on.

They tell you they support this group or that group. The constant argument is that the Taxpayers First Party voted against hiring officers.

Surface information only; dig below and you will see that background checks were not finished, required exams were not taken (or so they were told), or they were not enrolled in the academy yet. When the background checks were finished and they were enrolled into the academy, and it was discovered that the needed test was taken, those officers were hired and/or promoted. So that is not really a true no vote after all is it? However, it is efficient spending, which is not wasting your tax dollars.

What really is a NO vote was the Rebuild Party voting each and every time on the recent fire district proposal. They voted against sending the vote to you, the taxpayer, to make the decision. Even after they had asked for other possible solution(s) to alleviate the pending problems. That problem is too much bloat in the village government and not enough tax revenue to pay for it. Way too much waste is going on and it has to stop if you want your village to survive. It has to start with the mayor.

Steve May and his team have qualifications that are far superior compared to those that are there now. He is a successful businessman and it is time to run the village like a business.

Stop buying into the election tactics. “We are currently working on this grant or that grant”. What about one year ago? Nope just now because it is election season and it sounds good.

Please get out and vote on March 15. It is your birthright and duty as an American citizen and the only way that change can actually happen.

Sincerely,

Carl Jones
