Which Tioga County school district, organization, business, or wicked smart group of individuals will seize the title of ‘Best Spellers in Tioga County’? Grab a few of your brilliant friends for a fast-paced, grownup group spelling bee from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the Owego Elks Lodge, 223 Front St., Owego.

It is sure to be a scintillating evening with honeybee cakes, refreshments, local beekeepers and honey. A silent auction of celebrity lunches is one of the many highlights and prizes will be given away for Best Team Costume.

The teams will be made up of two to five individuals and all must register online at tiogaunitedway.com or by calling (607) 687-4028.

To enter, each team contributes $100 and must be at least 21 years of age. If spelling just isn’t your thing, but you would like to join in the festivities and support a worthy cause, there’s a $5 admission fee. If you’d like to sponsor a team or volunteer, call (607) 687-4028.

All proceeds will go towards the 31 partner agencies of the Tioga United Way, #GiveWhereYouLive.
