The first meeting of OLL for the 65th season was conducted at The Countryside Community Center. Highlights provided by Player Agent, Webmaster and Scheduler Eric Hawkins included:

In Person Registration is Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Thursday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club.

The Mandatory Coaches Meeting is Wednesday, March 2, at the Ron Dougherty Tioga County Office Building, Main Street.

The Indoor Clinic is Saturday, March 5, for seven to nine year olds from 9 to 11 a.m., and 10 to 12 year olds from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Owego Middle School gym.

Baseball Drafts for Majors and Minors are Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m.  Modified Tee Ball and Tee Ball is Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m.

Practice starts on Saturday, April 2, at Hyde Park.

Opening Day, Picture Day, and Homecoming dates are pending.

Post Season Tournament Dates are June 27 through July 10, and July 11 through July 24.

VP Teener Jim Lavo reports that Owego Teener League Signups start this week. Check the OLL website at www.eteamz.com/owego to register. This year Lavo anticipates having two 14 and under teams (ages 13 and 14) and at least one 16 and under team (ages 15 and 16).

Teener season starts the first week of June and ends at the end of July with the Tri County Teener League Playoffs and Championships.

Teener is looking for coaches. Contact VP Teener Jim Lavo at (607) 953-9751 for information about coaching or playing.

Visit littleleague.org to get all your Little League news, rules updates, and more. Former OLL Baseball VP Chris Rieg’s son Mason has “aged out of OLL” and has moved up to Teener League where Dad Chris will coach.

Safety Officer Mike Hopkins is a paramedic who runs with Owego and works at Superior Ambulance Service in Binghamton.

New VP Baseball Chris Terry has been with OLL about six years and is from Georgia, originally. League Officers say he is a great guy and a huge asset to the program.
