Whoever wrote the comment about nobama being one of the very best presidents we have ever had must be a relative or a recipient of nobama’s largess. Perhaps the $57 million-plus dollars of taxpayer monies nobama spent on vacations these past seven years was shared with the writer. Or perhaps the writer was one of the 496 aides along with three doctors who accompanied nobama to Paris for the three-day global warming gathering.

For the person who wrote about receiving the insurance letter and the proposed 62.3 percent increase in premiums. I was in the same position (plan F – with CDPHP) and there is a very helpful connection for you to make: call – goMedigap – 866-894-3252 ext. 156 and ask for Nicole Moulton. She was very helpful and she got me registered in a different supplemental coverage plan through AARP at a lower rate than even the $193.01 that I, too, was paying. Just for your information, when you already have a supplemental plan you can make changes to another supplemental plan anytime during the year. Nicole will explain it all to you. Tell her Lee recommended that you call her.

Two Redbone Coonhounds, one male, one female, and answers to Lulu and Rusty. They are lost in the Catlin Hill Road area. They tend to wander, so they can be anywhere in the Glenmary Drive area and beyond, also. If seen, call 687-1818 or (315) 271-9106.

I’m a taxpaying, law abiding, honest, contributing member of society. What I would really like to do is grow two marijuana plants for personal use. Why is this so illegal?

Does anyone know what Coach Vickler’s (at Owego Free Academy Football) career record is? I tried to find it and can’t.

Does anyone in the Owego area know of a garage for rent available for the month of February for me to work on a vehicle that has electricity? Heat is not necessary. A small garage would be great. You can text me at (607) 321-7742.

The Mayor of Philadelphia is nearly as big a buffoon as nobama for not calling Islamic terrorism for what it is as in the attack on the Philadelphia policeman by nobama’s twisted and tortured logic saving one life is worth any anti-gun legislation. Since the attacker used a stolen police gun maybe nobama should call for disarming all policemen. What a bunch of fools!

“Liberalism is a mental disease” per Michael Savage. That quote is obviously true as you can read from the prevarications by the national socialist democrats.

IBM needs to be reminded the business they are in. They make their money computerizing other company records. They really need to start with their own so that their health choices could be a little more understandable to their retirees.

There was a fine young man or someone that wrote the report about Obama and him going down in history. Now we go across that deal, I want to know more about Trump’s private life with his wives and his activities. If he treats the public the way he does, how does he treat the people in his private life?

We were thinking about getting a new water heater, we will need one. We would like to know the opinion of others whether LP, electric, or one of those tankless water heaters are the best. There is only the two of us now. We would like your opinion.

To the person upset over food with nuts not being served at community dinners, it’s not just a matter of eating the foods they are allergic to. Many people have died just from the smell of peanuts or other nuts. Is your sweet tooth so much more important than someone else’s life?

Follow the news. Republican legislators around the nation are refusing healthcare for many residents because, pure and simple, they are ideologically against what they call entitlements. Let’s see how these legislators fare when they encounter the debilitating and bank and financial draining old age illnesses that are becoming more and more prevalent as we live longer.

News flash. Hillary Clinton said she never put classified documents on her personal server, which is illegal. She is correct. We now know she put well over 1,000 classified documents on her server and moreover instructed her minions how to remove the classified status before putting them on! The dumb republicans should be preparing articles of impeachment for the corrupt nobama and his stooge attorney general if they do not follow the coming FBI indictment of Hillary recommendation. Fat chance that will happen!

I was wondering if the First United Methodist Church in Endicott on McKinley Avenue, that does free lunches, gets some kind of government subsidy that helps them do this, and if maybe we could have one down here in Owego at a United Methodist Church and one in Newark Valley. I hope someone can come up with something.

I have seen in the local newspapers, in the local news, and in the national news how police officers have used their tasers to take individuals into custody. I have one question, has law enforcement lost their mojo?

~

As it was on television news, the idea is that now we have three Amigos – a major Mexican drug dealer, Sean Penn, and you guessed it – Donald Trump? Imagine that!

This is the United States of America! We should be so thankful because we can vote – we have a choice. I hear such meanness and bitterness from non-democrats and letters that are downright shameful. Remember, this is America, home of the brave and land of the free. Republicans, don’t be angered into becoming like the mean spirited. It is so belittling, and sinks low and stinks to high heaven. Remain respectable.

I sincerely hope that the Owego Apalachin school board has the intestinal fortitude to make sure that our next superintendent is a resident of our school district and is a local taxpayer. It was a shame that they did not enforce that requirement with brother Bill during his tenure. Does anyone agree?

Thank you to the Candor Central School District for joining the Tioga United Way giving campaign! You are truly making a difference in the lives of our neighbors in Tioga County! Thank you!

A survey of New York school districts has found that Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal to raise the minimum wage to $15 will increase labor costs for public schools by millions of dollars. The New York State Association of School Business Officials released findings that more than 30,000 employees would see their wages go up if the state goes to a $15 minimum, costing districts at least $276 million. Michael Borges, director of the association, says the numbers show Cuomo’s plan would have a “significant” impact on the cost of public education and could force higher taxes and says lawmakers should “proceed cautiously.” Cuomo has said he supports gradually phasing in a $15 minimum and offsetting it with tax breaks for businesses but gave no indication on local property taxpayers who are mandated to keep to a 2 percent tax cap to pay for services, instruction, administration and capital expenditures or have a 60 percent favorable vote to spend more. He also did not indicate that annual School Aide to Local districts would be adjusted accordingly to compensate districts. Cuomo: The governor who takes away with two hands and gives back with one.

Voters for Hillary might do well embracing these maxims used as reference quotes on liars. Young liars turn into old thieves. ~ Hebrew proverb. The true hypocrite is the one who ceases to perceive his deception, the one who lies with sincerity. ~André Gide. How seldom we weigh our neighbors in the same balance as ourselves. ~Thomas à Kempis. If we divine a discrepancy between a man’s words and his character, the whole impression of him becomes broken and painful; he revolts the imagination by his lack of unity, and even the good in him is hardly accepted. ~ Charles Cooley.

The two homes on West Avenue that the Village of Owego now owns were paid for under the FEMA Flood Buy-Out Programs. The funds to pay for and demolish them come from FEMA, not from the village. This program pays the pre-flood value of a seriously flooded home and allows homeowners to get funds to rebuild their lives after a flood. Answers to questions like this can quickly be obtained by calling the Village of Owego Village Hall at 687-1710 or the Village Mayor at 687-3263.

I can understand towns and schools having a hard time staying under the tax cap.

However, in a county the size of Tioga, having a total population of a small city and consisting of nine towns, it is ridiculous that a Town Board can’t come up with a plan to reduce property taxes. They are just lazy. Consolidate services with the County.

Congratulations readers. I challenged you to post a link to a video of Hillary or a link to a newspaper with an interview and NOT a hearsay site and sure to form you posted links to hearsay sites. Good job.

I have designed a generic protest sign that anyone can use at a budget hearing. Feel free to use the idea. It reads: KEEP MY STUFF – CUT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

It is ridiculous that manufacturers put their instructions on appliances in the same color as the appliance, usually black on black and white in white. The instructions should be in a contrasting color. I would be glad to pay more for an appliance if I could read it easily. Time Warner’s remote for their control box is a very good example of black on black, which is close to impossible to read.

An empty chair at Obama’s State Of The Union address? How rude of Burgdahl not to come!

Ever wonder why the incidence of violent crime is much lower in Texas, than in Chicago, for example? You don’t suppose it might be because Texas recently adopted an open carry law, do you? Nah, couldn’t be. Too simple an answer, besides, it doesn’t fit the narrative Nobama would like you to swallow. Can’t wait for this walking disaster to be GONE! Even the New York Times recently published an article describing Nobama as the most unprepared “president” this country has ever had to suffer with.

In response to the individual who keeps insisting that Republicans want to cut Social Security. Not so. The only thought is to increase the age of eligibility, which would not affect current Social Security recipients at all. You
