The Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center held its annual Gymnastics With a Can week Nov. 14 thru Nov. 20. During this week, the Center collects non-perishable food items to be donated to the Tioga County Rural Ministry.
During classes the children are reminded of how important it is to help those in need, especially around the holidays. The children then use the blocks from the foam block pit in lieu of the actual cans for fun activities in the gym including the trampoline and relay races.
The Center, a not-for-profit organization has been serving the community since 1964 and offers a variety of programs for children, teens and adults. In addition to recreational and competitive gymnastics programs, Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center also offers field trips, the Lollipop Kids program for children under five, Fun Days and Munchkin Days, which is offered in December.
