Last week, two Owego Free Academy seniors signed letters of intent to continue their athletics careers after high school. Signing were Allie Heeman, who signed on with Coppin State, Maryland (Division I) for softball and Christopher Wieckhorst who signed on with North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina (Division II) for Lacrosse.
Heeman is the daughter of Edward and Marjorie Heeman. Wieckhorst is the son of James and Stefanie Wieckhorst.
Allie Heeman played varsity softball from 2013 to 2015, played in travel softball leagues for the past six years, junior varsity softball in 7th and 8th grade, junior varsity field hockey in 9th grade, earned high honors throughout high school, was in the Key Club her senior year, was a volunteer coach for the Owego Teener League in 2015, and was a volunteer assistant in pitching clinics and camps for the past three years.
Christopher Wieckhorst played Lacrosse in 10th and 11th grade, and served as Team Captain in 11th grade as well as other positions held and various accolades. Wieckhorst was part of the Section 4 All-Division for golf in 11th grade, the STAC All-Conference for golf in 12th grade, and a State qualifier in both 11th and 12th grade. He was also part of the National Honor Society, served as Student Council President, achieved high honor roll throughout high school, was on the Athletic Leadership Council, and performs with Making The Band.
