Although the 2016 Camry is right around the corner, consumers might want to consider a brand new leftover 2015 Toyota Camry, which is the all-new generation design and identical to the 2016 model. Our tester is the upper class XSE sedan that comes with a bevy of standard features.

From front end to the rear quarters, the new Camry XSE delivers a dramatic design statement. The front end, especially the new sport mesh grille, is much improved over the previous design while its aerodynamic lines make Camry standout in a crowd like never before.

Cabin occupants will appreciate the great sounding Entune Premium audio with navigation, power and heated leather-trimmed front seats, very nice ambient lighting and many other cabin features that center on ease-of-use technology and improved comfort.

Under the hood sits Toyota’s powerful 3.5-liter V6 that produces 268 horsepower, 248 lb. ft. of torque and zero to 60 performances in the six-second range. Power transfers through a front-drive six-speed automatic to sporty 18-inch machined alloy wheels on all-season tires.

Considering return on investment, Toyota Camry is not only Toyota’s best selling model it also holds value on the used car market. Our tester features many of the same amenities of top line Toyota Avalon, and even includes the exact same engine mechanicals as the 2015/2016 Lexus ES350. Considering the Lexus line starts at $38,000 while our 2015 Camry XSE with the V6 starts at $31,370, I can give you nearly “7,000 reasons” why potential buyers might want to consider a Camry with the V6.

In addition to this Camry/Lexus price difference, both Camry XSE and Lexus ES350 are built on the same platform by Toyota workers in Georgetown, Kentucky. As for wheelbase, Camry comes in at just 1.7-inches less than Lexus, 109.3 versus 111, the latter also the same wheelbase at the Avalon. Although Lexus and Avalon models come dressed to the hilt, Camry XSE benefits an increasing class of consumers who appreciate their luxury and comfort in a more discreet manner sans a wealth statement auto badge.

Additionally, for those working on a tighter budget, the entry level four-cylinder Camry LE can be parked in your driveway for just $22,970 retail, and that’s before any dealer discounts and/or buyer incentives. At the top of the Camry line sits the Camry XLE at a base of $26,150, while the Camry Hybrid models start at just $26,790. (The 2016 Camry prices are similar).

Our Camry had just about every feature available with just a few options. Included were a $500 Blind Spot and Cross Traffic upgrade, $805 Premium Entune improvement with 10 JBL speakers, a $750 advanced technology package with pre-collision system, lane departure, dynamic radar cruise, and auto high beams. Your dealer will explain all of the options, especially the recommended advanced tech package.

Some of the standard features also include safety backup camera, Touch Screen control and Toyota’s “Star Safety” system that features 10 air bags, electronic brakeforce, traction control and much more to keep everyone inside as safe as possible.

I especially like the XSE sport tuned suspension, paddle shifters, Eco mode indicator and four-wheel ABS discs with brake assist and smart stop technology. A power tilt/slide moon roof is also standard, as is the color keyed rear spoiler and dual tip chrome exhaust.

Toyota has long been criticized for not being more aggressive with its new generation designs. However, based on the new 2015 Camry, this statement no longer applies.

In summary, the mid-size 2015 Toyota Camry offers a sleek new exterior, beautiful interior, great entry price and the outstanding owner satisfaction ratings. These are just a few reasons why Toyota Camry is the bestselling car in America, and Toyota plans to keep it that way.

Important numbers include a wheelbase of 109.3-inches, 6.1-inch ground clearance, 3,460 lb. curb weight, 17 gallon fuel tank, 15.4 cu. ft. of cargo space and 21 city/31 highway EPA numbers.

Likes: All-new design, great entry price, quiet ride.

Dislikes: Touch Screen learning curve, new generation cargo room a little less.
