Maddie’s Meadows Pet of the Week for the week of Oct. 18, 2015

Maddie’s Meadows Pet of the Week

Pictured are some of the cats that were taken in by Maddie’s Meadows from a feral colony that could no longer be maintained.

Maddie’s Meadows Pet of the WeekMaddie’s Meadows has been working a feral cat colony of over 45 cats, trying to clean it up; capturing the cats/kittens, getting them fixed, medical treatment as needed and shots then to relocate them.

The person who has been taking care of them has to move and there is no one to take care of them after she leaves. Please do not judge the person who has been trying to take care of them. She is a hero in the eyes of many, trying to take care of the responsibilities of all those that drop cats off.

Maddie’s Meadows has taken 25 of the cats, and already has 12 on the premises and 13 in foster care. This is a giant financial burden and instead of a pet of the week, Maddie’s Meadows would like to make a plea for support in rescuing these kitties. There are a lot of little ones so they going to try and socialize them and adopt them out.

Maddie’s Meadows could use help with food, both dry and canned; and financial support for vet bills. They could also use kitty litter. They like to use the pelletized horse bedding for most of the boxes because it is so much cheaper, but some of the feral kitties prefer the traditional clumping style, odor eliminating cat litter.

Maddie’s Meadows could also use help transporting cats back and forth to the vet or experienced foster care families. Feral kitties are not the same as domesticated house cats. They need patience and tender loving care. They are not recommended for homes with children.
