See you at the pigpen

Dear Editor,

PANTRYPigs would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you in the community for your support. For five years now, we have been providing meat to the food pantries of Tioga County; and for the last three years, you, the community, have been a major part of this.

Beginning in 2010 we, as a single family, we were able to provide three pigs to two pantries for two years, for a total of about 450 lbs. of pork. Then in 2012 we went public with our ministry, with our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/PantryPigs, asking you to help by contributing scrap metal for us to sell, at Ben Weitsman and Son, and since then, our output has increased many times over having now provided these pantries with well over 5,000 lbs. of pork, and as of recently nearly 600 lbs. of chicken.

All of this increase in production, has been made possible, only because of the generosity of YOU the public, with your contributions of scrap metal.

To date, this year, your scrap metal donations have added up to 24.1045 U.S. tons, and a total income of, $3,105.60, from this scrap. Combined with your cash donations of $1,860, we have been able to deliver – this year alone – 1,388 lbs. of bacon, pork chops and all the other goodies a pig has to offer; and as I have said, almost 600 lbs. of chicken – THIS YEAR ALONE.

Thanks cannot begin to express our gratitude, but let it be known to one and all, we are grateful beyond words for your support. We are forever in your debt for the last three years of your support, and look forward to many years to come of this joint venture.

If you have never heard of PANTRYPigs, and would like to learn more, and indeed help with a scrap metal donation, visit our aforementioned Facebook page to learn how you can contribute to this effort, WITHOUT EVER COSTING YOU A SINGLE PENNY.

Thanks again folks. We’ll see around the pigpen.

Sincerely,

Donald Corson Sr.
