When Kevin Blake, president, and Travis Hayes acquired ICS Solutions in 2005, there were four employees. Today, ICS has grown to employ approximately 60 employees in the Endicott area alone.
ICS Solutions Group, based out of Endicott, N.Y. and providing services throughout the Southern Tier of New York, Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and beyond, is projecting that the technology services they provide will only continue to grow in today’s world of computing and system security. In specific, their firewall technology is helping clients to ensure safety for their customers and helping them to expand their services.
In an interview with the company’s President, Kevin Blake, he noted that all of the work they perform is in-house.
“We do all of our cabling, oversight, and firewall building right here,” sated Blake during the interview, adding, “We even have a helpdesk to provide our customers an added service.”
The company specializes in the engineering of services for companies, the infrastructure needed, and expert consulting.
“We take care of everything from small businesses to larger groups,” added Blake. “We can install services for twenty computers and systems up to two-hundred.”
Dandy Mini Marts, with over 60 locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania, is one of the clients that ICS Solutions Group serves, specifically at locations in Sayre, Pa.
Today, the company continues to grow and is now expanding towards the Corning, N.Y. area and beyond.
Blake referred to the services they provide as a “one stop shop” for computer and security needs.
“We consult, provide the setup, and work with the company’s budget,” said Blake.
One concern for companies, Blake agreed, is the growing problem of identity theft, and the need for security.
Blake added, “A secure firewall is important. You can have someone watching you twenty-four seven. A secure firewall will keep people away, as hackers are always looking for system vulnerabilities.”
With ICS Solutions Group, patches are applied, according to Blake, to remove those vulnerabilities.
Most recently, ICS Solutions Group announced the addition of several skilled technology professionals to its rapidly growing team. The company also reported a growth rate of 30 percent last year, with expectations to grow an additional 25 percent this year, alone.
New team members have joined ICS in both the Southern Tier and Syracuse offices. Of the 14 recently hired technical support staff, five high-level engineers have joined the ICS team.
Steven Heidrich comes to ICS from Endwell, N.Y., bringing with him a wealth of experience in network and server hardware and security policy implementation. At ICS, he is a Level 3-4 Project Engineer responsible for overseeing large projects from design to implementation and ongoing support.
Darren Clark joins ICS from Ithaca, N.Y. As a Level 3 Project Engineer, he has already completed several server migrations and addressed numerous service issues in the short time since he has been hired.
Rounding out the area’s engineering team is Michael Wickham who previously worked in Ithaca, N.Y. Wickham is serving the team as a Level 2-3 Systems Engineer.
ICS is also experiencing growth in its Security and Telephony Division. In response to an increasing demand for specialty services such as business security in the areas of access control, business surveillance systems, structured cabling, network cabling and cleanup, new phone systems and service, ICS has hired additional staff to meet its customers’ unique needs.
