Father and son duo, Doug and Eamonn Hubert, will perform selections of rock, country, folk, blues and Irish music at their first appearance at Original’s Bar and Lounge. Guests will enjoy the Hubert’s set list, which includes songs from a wide spectrum like Eric Clapton and the Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn and John Denver, among others.

An accomplished, self-taught musician, Doug Hubert has been performing locally and regionally since 2002. A high school science teacher for 15 years, Doug views the “Weekend of Strings” at Original’s an excellent opportunity to share their music.

Seven year old Eamonn, a second grade student in the Union Endicott school district, is an extraordinary young musician who started strumming as early as age two and playing more seriously at six, and can now play the electric and acoustic guitars, some bass guitar, as well as the ukulele, mandolin and dulcimer guitar. With musical influence from both of his parents, Eamonn is now taking formal lessons weekly and performs as a duo with his father at other local venues, which included a recent guest performance with the Gravelding Brothers Band.

Eamonn, who has a form of high-functioning autism and ADHD, is believed to possess perfect (absolute) pitch, which is thought to occur in only one of 10,000 people, many who are autistic, and in addition has a stutter, which does not affect his singing or playing. Music has unfolded as a creative outlet for the seven year old who has also shown he can quickly pick up tunes by ear, even if he has only heard them once.

When asked to name one of his favorite things, Eamonn’s strong passion for music is evident as he replied, “I like my Gibson, Les Paul guitar the best.”

A community favorite for more than two decades, Original Italian Pizza and Restaurant offers guests a variety of pizza and multiple selections of Italian fare, including pasta, salads, subs and seafood dishes, all of which are available in the lounge with table service.  Now with a full service bar, Original’s offers more than a dozen creative mixers, handcrafted cocktails, which combine five or more ingredients.

Upcoming shows at Original’s include Ultra Vibe on Sept. 18, with opening act Mike Davis. “Blues Night” on Sept. 25 features acoustic-blues acts Acoustic Brew and Acoustic Voodoo. Both shows start at 8 p.m.

“No Cord Attached,” a night of musicians on their own power without amplification, will be arranged “campfire style” around the bar, and the September 26 show features Devinne Meyers at 6:30 p.m.
