On Aug. 15, 2015, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jody A. Holmes, age 43, and Paul S. Jordan, age 49 of Bessemer Rd. in Lockwood, N.Y. for Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals and Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance.

These charges resulted from an investigation by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 2, 2015 where it was found that a male horse between 17 to 25 years of age was confined on the property (pictured) and was deprived of necessary food. The horse also lacked medical care.

The horse was removed from the property and turned over to a local horse farm for rehabilitation. The family who is providing all necessary medical and veterinary care, food, and property shelter for the horse are taking on all expenses.

Stray Haven Humane Society has set up a “Go Fund Me” account at http://www.gofundme.com/bnjyhs7c.

The defendants were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Barton Court in front of Justice Joseph Fravel on Aug. 25, 2015.
