Five programs serving Tioga County young people have seen their community service activities boosted to engage more young people in volunteer activities.

The Richford Summer Youth Program, Apalachin Elementary School Helping Hands Club, Tioga County Catholic Social Service Yes Program at Newark Valley High School, Tioga County Boys & Girls Club/Tioga Hawks Youth Lacrosse Beautification Program and the Make A Difference Day Project of the Community Care Network of Nichols all received 2015 grants from the Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation in May to further their youth volunteerism outreach.

Each spring the Bassett Youth Foundation provides resources to develop the citizenship, community service, volunteerism and leadership of Tioga County children and youth through school and community youth service programs.

For more information go to the Foundation’s Facebook page at Friends of CHB Youth Foundation or email President Bob Bassett at chbyouthfoundation37@gmail.com.
