A premier local music show that has helped animal rescues and shelters within the Southern Tier of N.Y. and Northeastern Pa. since 2010, the next Shelter Slam, where more than 20 bands will play live on two stages, is set for Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015.

Scheduled from 11 a.m. until midnight at the Pines Pavilion and Dublin Double Celtic Pub located at 1660 Union Center Maine Highway in Endicott, N.Y., admission to Shelter Slam is $10, or $10 worth of pet food.

Back to the venue where it all began, the Shelter Slam line-up includes an incredible compilation of bands playing metal, punk, a little country and all forms of rock music.

Slam goers will enjoy sets performed by Raibred, The KiiL, Bobby G. and Timeless, The Fallen, River Terrace, Tim Ruffo Band, O.C.D., Recycled Zombies, Break of Aggression, Citizen 5, Bottoms Up, Never Enough, Burning Moonlight, Rize, Kickstart, Aftermath, Sweet Potato 4, Deveroe, Wreckless Marci, The X-Kids, Drained, JTFS, Egomaniacs and Bendher.

Owego, N.Y. native and business owner John DeLola combined his concert promotion experience with his love for animals, and organized the Shelter Slam benefit to raise awareness and help shelters and rescues continue their inspiring work. The popular fundraising show is also made possible with help from many generous individuals, local businesses and musicians.

Raffles are a major draw at the Shelter Slam event and tickets purchased give Slam goers an opportunity to win some pretty exclusive prizes. This year is no exception, with autographed items, door prizes and 50/50’s planned.

Raffle tickets are available at several area animal shelters and rescues, as well as at the event. Shelters benefiting from the Shelter Slam fundraiser include the Broome County Humane Society, Pibbles and More, Lost Pawz, Fur Ever Homes, Jimmy J’s Avian Rescue, S.P.E.A.K. and Happy Tails.  A list of other animal shelters and rescues that Shelter Slam has helped are listed on the shelterslam.com website.
