Summer computer program still accepting registrations

The Tioga Adult Learning Lab, (T.A.L.L.) is still accepting registration for classes in basic computer instruction for July and August 2015. T.A.L.L. serves adult students throughout the Southern Tier, and is sponsored by Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties, Inc., in partnership with Tioga County.

T.A.L.L.’s program manager and assistant provide instruction in introductory level computer applications. High speed Internet Broadband service is also available. There are no fees for any of the workshops or services T.A.L.L. provides.

The TALL Program is still accepting registrations for the following classes: “Basics of Microsoft® PowerPoint”, meeting on Aug. 4 and 6 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; “Basics of Microsoft®  Publisher”, meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m.; and “Social Media Basics – Using Facebook”, meeting Tuesday and Thursday Aug. 11 and 13 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Each class will meet mornings, at the Owego Free Academy, First Floor Room 105, Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego, N.Y. Students must be pre-registered to attend classes, and can do so by calling the Literacy Volunteers office at (607) 778-6406.

Open lab sessions, where adults can use computers, software and Broadband Internet to work independently or with the instructor, will be held on the following mornings: July 27 and 29, August 3, 10 and 12. Reservations need not be made for students during open lab sessions. The lab will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on these days. There are no fees for these open lab sessions.
