Hunter’s Crate, a new subscription box company for hunters based out of Spencer, N.Y., is focused on bringing to their customers a “hunting season without end,” with boxes geared toward specific themes or hunting seasons, and highlighting products from industry leaders. Additional information can be found on hunterscrate.com or find Hunter’s Crate on Facebook.

Hunter’s Crate, a family owned business and new subscription box company based out of Spencer, N.Y., is working on becoming a household name. The first service of its type, Hunter’s Crate will deliver quality products and gear to hunters all over the country in monthly themed care packages, similar to popular subscription box companies like NatureBox, Birchbox and Loot Crate.

Collaborating with some of the best-known companies in the outdoor products industry like Robinsons Outdoors, Pete Dryer and Hot Hands, among others, and introducing quality products from regional businesses such as Head Country, Hunter’s Crate is focused on creating premiere subscription boxes every month for their customers.

From knives, tools, valuable gear, professionally tested products, and even barbeque sauce, snacks and coffee, each month’s box will be based on a specific theme or hunting season, such as turkey hunting packages in the spring and deer hunting packages in the fall. Hunter’s Crate is focused on bringing to their customers a “hunting season without end.” For example, a theme for the winter months is the “survival box” offering products that can ultimately save a life.

Developed by Spencer natives and lifelong outdoorsmen, Joey Sears and his father, Joe, Hunter’s Crate is set to launch their first shipment of boxes on Sept. 1 and subscribers to the service will be able to choose their monthly care packages on-line beginning Aug. 1.

Also on the Hunter’s Crate team is hunting enthusiast and former Pittsburgh Steelers player, Tony Orlandini, who brings marketing experience and other expertise to the business.

In the Sears family, the sport of hunting is not only a favorite pastime; it is a passion and tradition shared by generations of their family.

Joey Sears began his hunting adventures while still in grade school and by the age of ten finished the North American Grand Slam for wild turkeys. A graduate of Spencer Van Etten high school, Joey received his bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College. A young entrepreneur bringing ambition and drive to the table, Joey’s background includes social media management, and web design and photography, an important mix of skills needed in today’s business world.

Joe Sears, a professional hunting guide with his company, Adventure Game Calls, and licensed in New York and Colorado, has organized and led hunting tours for over 25 years in the Colorado Rockies region, including hunting elk, antelope and mule deer, and has guided other tours across North America. Adventure Game Calls products have been marketed to large retailers like Cabela’s and Gander Mountain, and Joe’s hunting adventures have been previously filmed for television.

Both Joey and Joe are confident that customers will find the first Hunter’s Crate box unprecedented and something not to miss, and assure customers that exceptional thought and planning will be put into every box delivered.

Joe shared, “The value of every box is guaranteed to always exceed the monthly cost,” and he added, “We want to make a difference and make hunters successful.”

Perks for customers depending on membership level include prize giveaways, such as a high-end knife or even a guided hunting trip. Periodically, other giveaways for non-members will be offered.

Joey added, “Our members can also rack up and redeem Hunter’s Crate points on-line.” For example, a unique opportunity for members is to share their “box-opening moment” on-line via YouTube.com, and in turn acquire Hunter’s Crate points.

Visitors to sporting goods shows throughout the country, such as the annual trade show, Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pa. will be able to find out more information about Hunter’s Crate and even take their first box home.
