Breathtaking stunts from award-winning motion pictures and television series will be performed under the stewardship of Tim Chitwood, a professional stunt coordinator with over four decades’ worth of daredevil-driving experience on July 9 at the Tioga County Fair.
Tim Chitwood was recently showcased on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Tim is excited to be producing a revival of an authentic County Fair Stunt Show for 2015.
The Legends Stunt Show will offer its Premier performance of 2015 at the Tioga County Fair located at Marvin Park in Owego, N.Y. on Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m. on the track in front of the Grandstand, just as you remember it.
Tim, a native of Tampa, Fla., and the star of the Legends Stunt Show’s precision stunt team, will provide over one hour of action-packed, death-defying, gravity-defying adventure in this high speed show.
This high-energy production that mixes danger and comedy will leave spectators on the edge of their seats. Watch in awe as a pick-up truck is driven and balanced on only two wheels. Bumper clicking precision driving is performed in a fleet of automobiles. Witness spine-tingling car crashes, and laugh at trackside comedy antics from our thrill show clown. All this and much, much more in an action packed family friendly setting.
“Our Legend’s Stunt Show, sponsored by the Early Owego Antique Center, will be just that,” said Tim Chitwood.
Chitwood continued, “It has been seventeen years since a show of this kind has played the Tioga County Fair, and many Thrill Show veterans have been calling me wanting to be a part of this historic renewal.”
Tim vividly remembers growing up on the road with his dad and older brother, bringing excitement to County Fairs across the Northeast and beyond.
Chitwood added, “It will be a lot of fun to get back to our roots, away from the glamour stunts we are now most often called upon to perform. My friends promise to go all out to provide Fairgoers with the best Show possible”.
The Chitwood name is deemed “The Greatest name in thrill shows” and for good reasons. For over 80 years the automobile thrill show has been a Great American tradition. Names like Lucky Teter and his “Hell Drivers”, Jimmy Lynch and his “Death Dodgers”.
The Jack Kochman “Hell Drivers” and Dan Fleenor’s “Hurricane Hell Drivers” have echoed over public announce systems around the globe. However, no name has ever been more synonymous with the auto stunt show than the name, Chitwood.
In a day and age where everything is just an “app” away, the Legend Stunt Show continues to pack grandstands with its time-honored tradition of presenting automotive daredevilry in a family oriented performance.
The legacy of speed and skill endures through Joie Chitwood’s son Tim, who will take to the track. Each time that an automobile is balanced on only two wheels, flies over an elevated ramp way structure, at breakneck speeds, bumper to bumper with another car, or blasts through a burning barricade – the gasps from the audience affirm, “THE LEGEND LIVES!”
