Dorothy Smith, age 87 of Candor, N.Y., passed away of Parkinson’s in LaGrange, Kentucky with her family close to her. She was cremated and her remains join those of her husband Charles on the hill behind their home in Candor, N.Y.
Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Owego and was a member of the Eastern Star in Candor. Dorothy was an extraordinary lady, kind, generous, understanding, and would be out front in the time of need.
Dorothy was active in several functions. As an Act Volunteer, she prepared and served dinners for those less fortunate. As a Senior Council member she was involved in the planning of events and activities at the Senior Center in Owego.
Dorothy’s last five years were difficult due to Parkinson’s, but her spirits were uplifted by cards, phone calls and visits.
Good friends, take a moment to remember a good lady who is with God.
