Thanks for supporting the library

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Apalachin Library Association, we’d like to thank the Owego Apalachin Central School District voters for approving a referendum on May 19 to benefit the Apalachin Library.

Libraries remain a vital resource to all. As we progress into the digital age, libraries continue to keep information free flowing using all the latest trends. People use libraries for different reasons, including bringing young ones in to enjoy story hour, searching for employment opportunities and enhancements, finding that “hard to find” novel, and a hundred other reasons. What’s yours?

Our quest for being advocates in literacy is just the beginning. If you haven’t stopped in lately, I encourage everyone to do so and speak to our Director or one of our library assistants. You will be amazed by their energy and zeal to help our patrons in every way. All of this is possible with the overwhelmingly positive support of the community in recognizing the value and paramount benefits offered. Judicious accountability is always maintained, and is a top priority of the trustees.

Best of all, library cards are free. Year over year our circulation increases, and our networked access to other libraries makes your choices endless. Something you don’t see in the Apalachin Library? Well there are excellent chances we will be able to find it for you.

To find out more on what your libraries can do for you, stop in, or contact Cathy Sorber, director of the Apalachin Library at (607) 625-3333.

We thank you again for supporting the Apalachin Library, and appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Sincerely,

John R. Deopuria

Board President
