On June 3, clear skies and warmer weather drew a large crowd to Owego’s Parkview Hotel and Restaurant for their weekly Bike Night event. Popular Southern Tier band members, Wreckless Marci, brought in even more guests to the event.

With their Green Day influence and blend of classical, modern and dance rock, the four-member band comprised of Sonny Weeks, Mark Sedlock, Craig Palmer, and Matt Jensen had the crowd on their feet during their entire two-hour performance.

For those who missed the performance by Wreckless Marci, they will be performing on June 19, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Courthouse Square during the Strawberry Festival Block Party in Owego and before the fireworks.

As for the motorcycles, it was a beautiful sight in downtown Owego, reminiscent of popular bike nights in areas such as Sylvan Beach, as motorcycles lined Front Street along Draper Park and even as far as western end of Front Street past the Historical Society and Museum.

Special to the evening was also a birthday celebration for Ute Burchard, a fan of Wreckless Marci and a volunteer for many community organized events. A cake, designed by a Wreckless Marci fan working the bakery at Price Chopper, was presented to Burchard halfway through the event on Wednesday along with a Bike Night poster signed by band members.

The event was well attended, with many even bringing their canine friends who enjoyed a dog bar with fresh water and biscuits that the owners, Beth and Mark Johnson, have set up each week.

Two 50-50 raffles were also held throughout the evening, with funds helping to pay for this free community entertainment each week, and for sound provided by Mark Bennett from Shark Audio.

The Parkview would like to thank everyone for continued support as the event continues to grow.

Next week will feature The KiiL on stage from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The KiiL is comprised of three Binghamton Rockers who have combined forces to create a local Power Trio. Members previously performed with OCD, NRG, Diamondback, Big Big Fellas, Ruckus, Rapid Fire and more.

Members Mike’ G Galus, Curtis Clinton, and Mike (DeMo) DeMichiei perform a variety of classic rock, new rock, alternative, dance and originals.

The KiiL will perform at Bike Night on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
