Benefit planned for Eric Breed

A benefit on June 7 for Eric Breed, pictured, will take place at the Vestal Elks Club from noon to 6 p.m.

On June 7, from noon to 6 p.m., a pasta benefit dinner for Eric Breed will take place at the Vestal Elks Club located at 2071 Vestal Parkway West.

Eric is a 23-year old college student and employee of the SUNY Broome Ice Center. On March 3, 2015, and after playing in a hockey game at SUNY Broome Ice Center, he sought medical treatment for unusual symptoms. He was subsequently airlifted to Albany Medical Center and underwent surgery to replace his aorta and a heart valve.

A related blood clot in his leg required six additional surgeries, leaving him with permanent muscle loss and extensive recovery needs.

Eric has returned home after a 25-day hospital stay and is determined to give his full effort towards his recovery.

Please help support his efforts by participating in a benefit to subsidize significant medical expenses, both current and future, and celebrate his continued recovery with family and friends.

The benefit is a $10 donation for adults, $5 for children five to 12, and five and under are free.

There will be basket raffles and 50/50 raffles. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at Southern Tier Physical Therapy located at 200 Front St. in Vestal.
