Tire and scrap metal cleanup to take place

The Town of Owego is conducting a tire and scrap metal cleanup on Friday, May 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to noon. Tires and scrap metal may be dropped off at the rear parking lot of the Owego Town Hall, 2354 St. Rt. 434, Apalachin.

Up to eight tires per Town of Owego or Village of Owego residential household will be accepted (up to 19-inches) and an additional eight tires will be accepted for a fee of $1.00 per tire. Any tires over 19-inches will count as two (up to four tires). Additional tires may be dropped off at $2.00 per tire (up to four tires). Tires on rims will be taken at no charge and will not be included in the eight-tire limit.

Clean scrap metal will also be accepted at no charge. This program is open to Town and Village of Owego residents only and proof of residency is required.
