Solar Power to the People!

Southern Tier Solar Works (STSW) kicked off this year’s solar initiative with a press conference held this past Friday, April 3 at Binghamton University, and is now off and running with a series of educational programs offering homeowners and small businesses a path to energy savings that are fixed, predictable, and long-term.

This year’s program has expanded to five counties – Tioga, Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego. The first educational event in Tioga County will be held at Tioga Downs on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. Four solar installers will be on-hand to update the public on all they need to know to make a decision on whether solar is right for them.

The public will have 10 weeks to enroll and the more people who sign up, the lower the cost will be to everyone. Installations will begin this summer, with most completed by winter of 2015.
