The Tioga County Department of Social Services recently announced that Michele Resue had been selected as their Supervisor of the Year for 2014.

Michele was hired as a Caseworker in November 2005. She was promoted to Senior Caseworker in July 2007 and then to her current position as Case Supervisor in February 2009.

Michele assumed responsibility for supervising and leading the Child Protective / Family Assessment Response (FAR) Unit in April, 2013. During 2014 Michele worked to integrate the FAR principles of practice and partnership into the work of the unit, emphasizing the achievement of child safety through engagement and collaborative partnerships.

Michele utilized group supervision to coach, support, and mentor the FAR Unit staff. Michele’s patience and calm demeanor foster the staff’s ability to work with FAR families in a solution focused, non-judgmental manner.

In September, Michele was part of a Tioga County team that presented at the annual Child Protective Services Conference.

Michele is viewed by her staff as being a supervisor who is willing to listen to staff concerns, and they feel it is an honor and privilege to work with and for Michele.

They congratulate Michele on this well deserved honor.
